Truesilver Book Release

Truesilver Book Release

The Swordspeaker Saga officially begins with the release of book 1, Truesilver. The book is now available for Kindle on Amazon, as well as in hard copy and on other major online stores.

So cue the minstrels and the fireworks, throw the confetti and blow the horns. This is a day to celebrate.

An epic thank you to all of the beta-readers who helped hone this story, to my wonderful editors, Alexandra Ott and Deborah O’Carroll. To my marvelous cover designer, Janette Ramos, and especially to those members of my family and friends that have encouraged me along the way.

The story behind the story

Truesilver is an epic story of bold heroes, cruel enemies, and heartfelt relationships. It’s a story of high hopes and shattered dreams. It’s a story of grief. Of the importance of family.

And this story really starts with my own family. For, like all books, this novel did not appear out of thin air. There is also a story behind the story.

It began with tears. When I first read aloud The Jammer and the Blade to my family, it did not go over as I’d hoped. When some of the characters died, my youngest daughter was distraught. She could not believe that good kind people would suffer like that. It wasn’t supposed to happen that way.

And that’s when I realized that although I had thought I was writing something that was clean and moral and good, younger, more tender hearts might not understand it that way. So I determined that I would keep my kids more in mind when I wrote my next book.

A tale of the family and for the family

In many ways, The Last Motley achieved that, but with The Swordspeaker Saga I went a step beyond that. This book was actually inspired by my children directly. In many ways it is about them.

And yet, a funny thing happened on the way to my dream of writing this book. My kids grew up. It took far longer than I anticipated to write and now they are off doing their own things. They’re no longer the same children I wrote about in this book.

But I hope one day they’ll be old enough to look back and see what I’ve written here and be thankful and glad for this little part of our family that I’ve attempted to capture here.

More to come

The book is out now. And who knows where it will go. But as far as the story, this is only the beginning. Seven more books are on the way and book 2, Rimewinter, which is available for preorder, is being polished as we speak. Hopefully, it will release early next year, but it may release even sooner, depending on how well Truesilver does.

So if you’re keen on seeing the next book come out as soon as possible. Please share the news about Truesilver’s launch with your friends, write a review, and help me get the word out!

Thanks so much for stopping by and sharing this special day with me. Now, back to writing!

Until next time, I’ll see you between the pages.

    1. Thank you, Deb. And thanks not only for you professional help, but for your encouragement and sunny personality along the way. It’s such a blessing.

  1. HAPPY BELATED RELEASE DAY!!!!!!!

We were on vacation through the last week of May/first week of June so I got quite a bit (read, very very very) behind on all the things. But it was good. We rode an elephant and stopped by the Creation Museum/Ark Encounter and recharged a lot. It was good.

I am SO excited for you on this newest release and AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!! And Rimewinter is already up for preorder?!??!? (runs off to preorder immediately) and also, that title is absolutely stunning! *chef’s finger kiss thing they do to show that something is just perfection* 😀

Truesilver is next on my reading pile (I got a little bogged down in ARCs this spring somehow… I’m not even sure how that happened, because I don’t usually sign up for them… but I guess a bunch of authors I already know I like released books all at the same time or something…)

That’s so cool that you wrote this story about and for your kids. You’ve got a bit of a C.S. Lewis thing going on there, “Someday you may be old enough to enjoy fairy tales again” 🙂 which is unsurprising as I’m pretty sure Lewis and Tolkien and friends would have definitely wanted you in the Inklings had you lived at the same time/place as them.

CONGRATS on the new release, my friend!

    1. I love that quote from Lewis. May it prove true. My kids aren’t as much into reading these days as they used to be, but hopefully they will grow out of it.

I’m so thrilled and honored that you’ll be returning to Truesilver soon. I think you’ll definitely recognize a change or two, perhaps some you had a hand in!

It’s such a blessing to have the book out and to know that it has found a place on the shelves of wonderful homes like yours.
