The trailer for Truesilver is here! I think most authors would be tickled pink to have one of their books made into a movie and a book trailer can at least give a taste of what that might be like.
I’ve written before about what went into the making of the trailer for my first book, Into the Vast. After that experience, I thought I probably would not do another one. Not because I didn’t like the way it turned out, but simply because it was so much work and it did not seem to generate much interest in the book.
It turns out that book trailers really aren’t all that trendy on Youtube. Most readers like to read their books, not watch videos about them. Go figure.
Create with beautiful abandon
But a while back I came up with an idea for a trailer for Truesilver and I thought maybe I could pull it off without quite as much work as last time.
And you know what? It turns out video editing is a little like riding a bicycle. It all came back to me pretty quickly. As good as the first trailer was for Into the Vast, I think this one turned out even better.
Film companies, you know where to find me. Call my people. Let’s talk.
In all seriousness, this time around, I have more realistic expectations. I don’t expect the video to get a zillion views or even lead to many sales of the book. I made the trailer because I thought I could make something beautiful and wonderful and decided to give it a shot. Sometimes art is not the most practical thing to do. Sometimes you just need to write or draw or sing or film whether or not anyone cares or notices.
Sometimes you need to create with beautiful abandon.
Grab your popcorn
So here is the fruit of my labor. A short, cinematic trailer which gives you a little window into the beginnings of this epic fantasy series.
While you’re not likely to see Truesilver on the big screen anytime soon, this is the next best thing.
Enjoy.
One more thing
I almost forgot. I’m running a contest to give away a paperback copy of Truesilver to one person who comments on the video in the first week. (U.S. only)
So have a look and then hop over to Youtube and leave me a comment over there for your chance to win!

Ahhhh! That was so epic!!!
Thanks! I agree!
Oh my goodness, that was so cool!!!
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it, Deborah.
