It’s voting week for the 2025 Silmaril awards!
After an active week of nominations, the top five characters with the most silver tongue have been combed over and nominated for a chance to win the precious silmaril for 2025.
These awards are by readers and for readers and now it’s time to decide who you will choose the winners for our nine categories, including this year’s Silver Tongue award.
And just who are these fine characters seeking your vote for this year’s silmaril?
The envelope please…
Silver Tongue nominees for 2025
And the nominees for Most Silver Tongue in 2025 are…
Athelas (City Between)
This tea drinking fae with curly brown hair knows how to dress and how to make an impression. A being of mysterious power, his cunningness and cleverness at times come as much from what he doesn’t say as what he does.
Armulyn (Wingfeather Saga)
Armulyn is a wanderer, a teller of tells, and a singer of songs. Something of a folk hero and a rebel, he defied the Fangs who rule and terrorize Skree by singing songs of Anniera and offering hope to its people.
Hoid (Way of Kings)
Though he can be a bit coarse and rough around the edges, Hoid is a dealer in knowledge and a purveyor of choice words. A servant of the king, he proves that words can be as sharp as any sword when in the hands of one who knows how to wield them.
Ella (Ella Enchanted)
Though cursed with the unfortunate fate of having to obey everything she is told to do, Ella uses her own cleverness, charm, and way with words to get out of many a sticky situation.
Meggie (Inkheart)
Though outwardly a normal girl, Meggis is (mild spoiler) quite literally a Silvertongue, someone who can speak the words of books into reality.
The choice is yours

The time for deliberation is over. It’s time to get to vote. Who will be the winners of the 2025 Silmaril Awards?

Pingback: 2025 Silmaril Awards: Wisest Counselor Finalists and Voting – Bard on Pilgrimage
Oh, what a nice variety of Silver Tongue nominees this year!
Thanks, Deborah. Yes, there is quite a bit of variety. A couple of these I would question as to whether they really fit the idea of the award, but I don’t make the nominations, I just report them, and we’ll see what the voters decide!
Yeah, the original was more for bards too, so I hear that, though I suppose Armulyn would fit that! I guess there are only so many of those kinds of characters. 🙂
