2019 Silmaril Awards voting

2019 Silmaril Awards voting is now open! It’s time to vote for your favorite fantasy characters. Voting ends September 16th and the winners will be announced, one each week day, between September 17-28.

I’ll be announcing the winner of theย Most Epic Hero award right here on this site, but the nominees are listed below. In case you are not familiar with them, here’s a quick look at our would be Silver Tongues for this year.

The Nominees

Nick Beasley (from Beaumont and Beasley) A no-nonsense detective who specializes in debunking “magic”. That is, until he succumbs to a Beast Curse and magic debunks him. Armed with a quick wit and an uncanny knack for the ironic, Nick can get to the bottom of any case. Even when that case is him.

Wesley the “Man in Black” (from Princess Bride)ย The simple farm boy who, for the sake of his true love Buttercup, goes to earn his fortune across the sea. He eventually becomes the Dread Pirate Roberts, dies, comes back to life, and, with his friends, saves Buttercup from the evil Prince Humperdink.

Jace (from Ilyon Chronicles) was raised to be a gladiator. A half human, half ryrik, he feels like an outcast wherever he goes. Aside from Tyra, his pet wolf, he keeps to himself, but when he meets Ryad, who shows him the love of God, slowly, his life begins to change.

Janner (from Wingfeather Saga) is the 12-year old firstborn son of Esben Wingfeather and Nia Helmer. Because he is the oldest child in the Annerian royal family, he is the Throne Warden of Anniera, whose duty is to protect his younger brother the king.

Leith Torren (from Blades of Acktar) never questions his orders or his loyalty to King Respen until an arrow wound and a prairie blizzard drive him to the doorstep of the girls whose family he once destroyed. How far does he dare go to resist the king and his Blades? No matter what Leith chooses, one thing is certain. Someone will die.

  1. Wow, I actually know only ONE of these characters! Well, two if you count the movie version of Wesley. Love the blurbs about each of them! ๐Ÿ™‚
